Moving on

I was hoping to post a polyvore on Saturday but I was honestly too brain dead to do anything. I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and slept 12 hours Saturday night. Sooo not like me! So it's polyvore on Monday instead....

It's a new week! Yay! The Father Daughter Dance went really well. The decor was great, the music was pumpin', the photo booths were a huge hit! I'm just glad it's over. I didn't get to take many pics-- and the only ones I have of the girls before the dance were taken on my MIL's cell phone. Depressing. Next year I won't miss photos....because I will not be in charge of the dance. the girls were not happy when I told them I wasn't going to do it again next year....until I told them I would do a dinner party for their friends before the dance instead. So easily distracted!

We finished the tear down of the dance today and I'm really looking forward to hitting the flea market tomorrow and then the studio for the rest of the week. YAY! Can hardly contain myself! The sun is out and the weather is supposed to warm up and the roses continue to sprout. So excited.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

The door.

I am dreaming of fabric and bags and fun little or long dresses. Two weeks is waaay too long to be out of the studio. I am jonesing!! I look over at the door 10 times a day, just dying to get back in there. I can't wait. Saturday. I'll lock myself in there, close the handmade drapes and just go to work. I have SO many ideas I feel like I am bursting at the seams. I just can't wait to get back in. I've got the fever!!

I just have to get thru the dance on Friday. We're up to over 400 people. Ha! You know what it takes to plan a party for 400?? Most brides take a year and usually don't have 400 guests(yes, there was supposed to be a cut off, but there isn't. It's the new natural law of entitlement..) and it is supposed to be cold and rainy...or even snowy. It will make for an interesting night for sure. So it has been a crazy week here already-- and it's only Wednesday.

Our return from NY was seamless and then I thrust myself full force into the dance-- which is great..everyone on campus is very excited. There have been a few bumps in the road again this week-- I guess with the lack of PMS and new "numb to the whole thing" attitude I am more able to handle them. I was talking to my SIL about it last night and what she said really hit it home for me... "The universe is trying to tell you something. Maybe now is the time to pull back and to spend more quality time with your family and more time in the studio. Think about what truely makes you happy" I think she is right. I didn't see it until she said it, I thought about how I have been staring at that lonely Gardenhouse door feeling it calling to me, pulling me. It all became immediately clear. She is right. The universe is trying to tell me something.

I will listen. More family, more work. Less everything else. That is exactly what I want-- I can feel it in my bones. I think I'll take a day off on Saturday and Sunday it'll be full bloom in the Gardenhouse. I can hardly wait! And speaking of full bloom-- my roses are starting their spring growth. I.heart.that. (I just hope the snow we are supposed to get this weekend doesn't kill them. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, no? And what in the world is up with snow TWO times this year in SoCal?? Keeeeey-razy!)

btw-- are you all dying for a polyvore?? I am!! I could waste days over there. Maybe I'll indulge on Saturday morning - with some coffee (or a bloody mary depending on how Friday night goes) Sounds indulgent. Style file will be Saturday-- fo' sho'. Thanks for hanging in there in my creative absense. It'll be the last one, I promise!

Fun. Happy. Chic.

I guess after that mini (was that mini?) meltdown I should lighten things up around here. Ha! So back to fabric and little girls clothing.
This is the last of the romper design...the Kate! Love. You?

It's a mix of Jennifer Paganelli and Amy Butler-- who always play so nicely together! And it was featured on Jennifer's blog too. You should go check it out-- she is da'bomb...her fabrics are no brainers to me.

They are all amazing. All of them. You can never go wrong with a little SisBoom and Forty Toes Photography! Jenn is doing an amazing giveaway on her blog- go check that out too! Love her!!

And the hair accessories-- the AMAZE's from Pretty Girl Couture. Ann is amazing!

To Have & Behold.

Happy Valentine's Day luvs! I hope you are having a fantastic day. I am sitting at my FIL's desk in Upstate NY looking out the window at the snow. We are having a fabulous time. Tomorrow we head to The City. I can hardly wait!

When thinking about everything we wanted to do while in The City, I had the idea of going to Klienfeld's......making an appointment to try on wedding dresses on the premise that Brian and I would be renewing out vows. We aren't going to be renewing our vows any time soon but so what-- it's Kleinfleds, the girls and I watch Say Yes to the Dress all the time and I was not old enough to appreciate hand sewn detials when we did get married. I literally drool over some of the dresses now. Anyway, my idea was shot down promptly-- not sure if it was due to the fact that I probably shouldn't involve our children in scheming and white lies like this (all for the sake of couture dresses) or due to the fact that my love knows me all too well and does realize that I might, just might, get a little carried away--- and then he will find himself dressed up and ready to renew our vows a year from now... :) All for the sake of one irresistible dress. So, we will not be going to Kleinfled's this time around. But that's alright because Anthropoligie (my other love) has finally opened BHLDN (pronounced beholden).

BHLDN is their wedding line, available on line..... not only do i not have to go anywhere, I don't have to make an appointment or embellish anything other than myself! Oh my you diiiiieee? I do!

And the bridesmaids dresses....breathtaking. I could even see this dress as a wedding dress-- with a gorgeous hand wrapped bouquet of all white roses.

You see why my plan was swiftly de-railed........

luvluv and wedding dresses.

I wanted so badly to have the spring summer line of clutches finished and ready for preview today. And guess what.... It didn't happen. Am I disappointed? A bit. BUT I realize that I am truly trying to balance my life. Family is very important to me, as is sleep! lol. I just can't stay up night after night until 2am. I makes me grumpy. Which makes my kids grumpy, which means I am failing. So, no clutches yet. It looks like it will be March before that happens. Why so long? We'll balance means keeping up on my involvement in the girls school-- and that is not a slight involvement. That is planning the Father Daughter Dance for 390. Ohh yes. And yesterday someone mentioned plastic tablecloths. I started laughing....Simone does not use plastic tablecloths-- it's that sort of father daughter dance! lol. Table drapes and tissue pom poms and chandeliers-- and a dessert buffet that is Amy Atlas worthy. Cuz' that's how I roll. I can't do it any other way...and those kids expect it now, ya know?!? And I like to do it.... Knowing that I will have created a memory for 390 people - that's rewarding. It adds balance to my life. Since it is Friday and Friday is stylish i thought I would share with you the cutest photo booth accessories shop.

Photo booths are popping up at all the see and be seen parties (Father Daughter dance being one of them of course!) and I love these!! So fun! They will definitely add that extra little bit of fun for the girls and their dads.
So now I am off to pack-- Gardenhouse is on vacay next week....Big Apple, baby! So excited. I have big plans to make a bag for myself before I leave...we'll see how that goes. I'll post photos if I can make it happen.
luvluv and stylish memories.

Inspired Interior.

Do you rue? Are you Rue'd?? I'm Rue'd. In LOVE with Rue mag. It's an online magazine there for your delight with just a few clicks! Last Thursday launched their third issue...which was amazing! The inspiration below is from one of their previous issue and I cannot get it out of my head. Thinking it'll be the inspiration for our dining area. LOVE it!

Two more fabulous online mags have launched in the last week or so and are getting rave reviews. I'll treat myself to perusing premiere issues of Adore as well as High Gloss once I have the last of the top secret projects finished...almost there! Can't wait. I heart inspiration like this!
Hope you are all having an inspired week.
